    • Chase, Sherman Alister: (September 29, 1945 - August 27, 2015) age 69, Pugwash River. It is with great sadness we must announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Sherman Alister Chase at home, on August 27, 2015. Born in Pugwash, he was a son of Jean (Estrabrooks) Chase, West Pugwash and the late Douglas S. Chase. Sherman worked in the Pugwash area as a self employed carpenter and was an avid outdoorsman. Besides his mother he is survived by a daughter, Pamela Chase and granddaughter, Ali Mobus, both of Dartmouth; brothers, Douglas (Elinor) Chase, Pugwash and Brian Chase, Port Philip; sister, Linda (Ernie) Stewart, Amherst; nephews, Jeffrey Chase, Pugwash and Kevin Chase, Orillia, Ont.. Besides his father he was predeceased by a sister in infancy. In keeping with Sherman's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 31, in the Palmerston Cemetery, Pugwash. Donations in Sherman's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (902-243-2506).
