  Anthony was born on the family homestead on Monday 26 Jul, 1909. Anthony and his brothers and sisters worked on the homestead located in an area on the Lake Huron side of the Bluewater highway north of Lloyd Etue's house and South of the Snowdon's farm. Anthony "Tony" Etue attended S.S. No 4 South Side Road 15 Stanley - Teacher Rena McBeath in 1915. Agnes Etue, Louise Etue, Godfrey Etue and Joseph Etue (his oldest brother). After getting married in 1934, Anthony & Mary first lived on the Bluewater highway on a small farm on the corner of Ken Etue's farm. Betty was born in 1935 on this farm. They moved Hay Township, Huron County to a farm at 71891 Babylon Line. In 1941 Peter was born (03 Sep 41) in the farm house on the Babylon Line in Hay Township. After passing, Mary was lay out in the living room as was the custom in those days. Betty was 6 years old at the time. Anthony left the farm during the war and started working at RCAF Station Centralia, south of Exeter as a 5th Class Stationery Engineer shovelling coal by hand until the automatic feed augers were installed. During the summer months he cut grass on the Station grounds and in the winter he plowed snow on the streets and runways. At times they used hugh snow blowers which often lead to some interesting "accidents"! More than one aircraft lost their wing during the stormy nights when visabiliy was poor and the drone of the snowblower moving ever so slowly lead to disaster. Grass cutting and snowblowing was also carried out at Grand Bend airport by the same crews. ------------------------------------------------------- In Oct 1950 Anthony (age 41 not 39 as stated on Marriage Certificate) & Dorothy (age 20), Betty was age 15 and Peter age 9, and Claire was an infant were married. Not a great situation with a 15 year daughter and a 20 year old step-mother! Betty moved out between about age 18 when she started with Frank Donnelly Law Office in Goderich retiring 48 years later! Frank Donnelly added his son Jim Donnelly to the firm a few years later. Betty had a great job and career with the Donnelly Law Firm later changed to Donnelly & Murphy with the arrival of Daniel Murphy to the firm. They first lived in Goderich at 28 Trafalgar Street, 208 Hincks Street and 202 Elgin Avenue West, Anthony worked at RCAF Station Centralia as a Stationery Engineer 5th class and 4th Class transferring to RCAF Station Clinton as a Stationery Engineer 4th Class. Later he worked at Sheaffer Pen, on Huron Road in Goderich after leaving RCAF Station Clinton. They moved to Stratford some time between 1962-64 where Tony worked at Blackstone's as a Stationery Engineer 4th Class. In 1967 they moved to London and lived on Mornington Avenue for 4 years then moving to 785 Fleet Street in 1971. Tony worked at Mount St. Joseph Mother house, Richmond Street, North as a Stationery Engineer 4th Class upgrading to 3rd Class during his employment. Obviously Sister Bernice his sister played a part in his hiring at Mount Saint Joseph. He also worked as a part time caretaker of Blessed Sacrement Catholic Church on Oxford Street in London. Anthony died on Tuesday 09 May 1995 at Dearness Nursing Home in London at the age of 85 yrs, 9 mths and 13 days. Funeral Mass at St Boniface RC Chuirch in Zurich, Ontario at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, 11 May 1995 with Father M. Wronski officiating. Records indicated that his birth surname may have been Hetu, however Anthony was raised and used Etue during his lifetime. Betty & Peter attended his funeral. They were seated several rows back while Dorothy and Douglas sat in the front row. What games people can play! After Anthony Etue took his son Peter from Clarence Miller's home in 1950, Anthony Etue never went to visited Clarence until Clarence Miller died in 1961. Very poor show considering what Clarence & Gertie did for Peter Etue Anthony's son! Last address Anthony & Dorothy lived at 785 Fleet Street, London, Ontario (1981) when he died 9 May 1995 and she died 30 Aug 2008. Anthony left his estate to wife Dorothy and their son Douglas.
