  • Notes
    • Louis Wild was the third of five children born to Valentine & Agnes Wild. Louis attended school in Bayfield. Unfortunately, Louis’ father, Valentine Wild died in 1929 leaving his mother, Agnes and her boys Joseph 19, Louis 15 and John 11 to carry on the family farm. Even though Vera was 9 she did her share of helping out as well. Louis’ oldest sister, Mary, had found employed in Toronto after graduating from High School in Goderich in 1926. The years went by and in 1940 John at the age of 22 took over the family farm of 150 acres. Louis continued to work on the family farm and neighbouring farms as a hired hand. Louis also enjoyed gardening. He lived with his mother on the family farm until Agnes moved to Clinton and Louis moved to Huronview in 1957. Louis lived at Huronview until his passing approximately 43 years. Louis never married.

My memories of Uncle Louis are limited but pleasant. Over the years on the times I visited him, He liked to tease, enjoyed a good joke and had a good sense of humour. In words of your forefathers, Louis would say “auf weidersein meine herr!” (Good bye my man) Go to your eternal reward in heaven with your parents, your brothers and your oldest sister, Mary, my mother. Danke schoen (Thank You) for being my uncle. His Funeral Mass was held at St. Peter's R.C. Church, Drysdale on Monday 04 Oct 2004 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to Funeral Mass. Father Francis Thakkumkattil celebrant. Internment in St. Peter's Cemetery (Drysdale) St.Joseph, Ontario. Pallbearers were, Joseph Wild, Patrick Wild, Bill Wild, Peter Etue, Paul Priestap and Toni Rosati. Flower bearers were Don Corriveau and Rick Denys.
