    • SMITH: Peacefully, at Exeter Villa Nursing Home, Tuesday, October 12, 2004, Clarence John Smith, 90, formerly of Grand Cove Estates, Grand Bend and Toronto. Beloved husband of the late Hazel May (Fielding) (Fisher) Smith (1997) and late Robina Margaret (Dunn) Smith (1977). Survived by his daughter Lorraine Wagner and her husband Keith of Chemainus, British Columbia; grandchildren Rick, Randy, Michelle and their families and his brother Donald Smith of Windsor. Also remembered by Hazel's family, Heather and Andrew Jacques, Glen and Ginette Fisher.
      Predeceased by his parents John Adam Smith and Clarissa Mary (Etue) Smith, formerly of Hay Twp. (Zurich), brothers Leonard, Roy, Hubert, Wellan Anthony (WW II), Wilfred, Orville and Harold Smith (WW II). A Memorial Service will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 1 p.m. The Rev. Father Francis Thekkumkattil C.S.T. officiating. Cremation interment Assumption Cemetery, Windsor. If desired, memorial donations to the Exeter Villa or charity of choice would be appreciated. Clarence worked for many years with the Toronto Board of Education and served his country during WWII. Military service record?
    • Clarence Smith was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). He was stationed at RCAF Station Centralia, near Exeter, Ontario.
      RCAF Station Centralia became an operational flying training base on 23 Sep 1942 and officially closed on 31 Mar 1967.
