Holmes Stewart Daggett, born Edgartown, Mass., May 11, 1793; died Linn county, Ia., May 9, 1858; married Farmington, Me., (published October 31, 1815), Mary Hartson Smith, daughter of William Smith; born Oromucto, N.B.; died Linn county, Ia., January 4, 1859.
Issue:
I. William Smith Daggett, born Farmington, Me., August 24, 1816; died Houlton, Me., May 14, 1851.
II. John Minot Daggett, born Temple, Me., June 25, 1818.
III. Holmes Stewart Daggett, born Strong, Me., July 26, 1820
IV. Mary Sewall Daggett, born Strong, Me., October 19, 1824; married Linn county, Iowa, Alva Lucon; resides Traer, Tama Co., Ia.
Holmes S. Daggett was private in Captain Morrison's company of militia, called out for the defence of the seacoast, and waiting orders at Farmington from September 14 to September 18, 1814.
He moved from Farmington to Houlton, Me., about 1836. In 1853 he removed with his family to Linn county, Ia.

The name Holmes S. Daggett appears in the list of Privates in the "Muster Roll of Capt. Robert M. Morrison's company of militia, of Farmington, of Lieut. Col. Joseph Fiarbanks' regiment, called out for the defense of the sea-coast, and waiting orders at Farmington from Sept. 14 to Sept. 18, 1814, when a draft was made for a forty days' service, and those not drafted were discharged."
