Letter from Helen Daggett Hocum to Martha Joyce Wild Mattson, undated

Dear Joyce and Mel -

Killing two birds with one stone, a Christmas greeting and a letter.

The picture you sent was of my mother, taken when she was 16. This was just after her mother died and the three girls were getting ready to come to St. Paul to be with their two brothers, Uncle Jack and Uncle Mike. I have never seen this picture and just love it. I have one taken at the same time of Mona(?) and Aunt Bud, the same fence and the same outfits. I want to have copies of this made before I send it back but they won't do it til after the holidays.

I'm at a standstill with Mom's family and also with both sides of George's. I did run down his great grandfather through the 1850 Ind. Census. But very little information except that his grandmother was a twin. No one knew that.

Well, back to the business at hand. Hope you and all your family have a wonderful Christmas, and everything good in the New Year.

Love,
Aunt Helen and Uncle George
Anne Ryder
